Skills Building Group for Men and Women Who Have Experienced Trauma

What the groups are: learning new ways to:

  • manage emotions
  • feel safer
  • develop relationship skills
  • understand and appreciate what changes you can make to help now

What the groups are NOT about:

  • revisiting trauma experience

This group is about improving quality of life in the here and now.
It’s about learning new skills to help with old problems.

Curriculum

  • Back to Basics - grounding
  • Safety First
  • Rethinking/Reframing
  • Coping with Triggers
  • Integrating the Split Self
  • Compassion
  • Resiliency

Based on the research of Lisa Najavits- Seeking Safety, CBT, DBT.

This is a good addition to your individual therapy.

Meets: Meets 5:30 - 7:00pm, Thursdays

  • understand and appreciate what changes you can make to help now

This group is about improving quality of life in the here and now.
It’s about learning new skills pain management.
